TREK IN THE DESERT, FROM BIR ABDALLAH TO KSAR GHILANE

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable adventure; over 8 days, you will embark on a 6-day trek in the Tunisian desert.

Your adventure begins at your place of stay, or at the airport in Djerba or Tozeur, where you will be picked up and driven to Douz, the starting point of the trek.

If you wish, you can also opt for a first night in a hotel in Djerba or Tozeur (upon request).

On the first day, you will head to Douz, a town on the edge of the desert, located 220 km from Djerba, with a journey of approximately 3h30.

On the way, for departures from Djerba, you will stop to visit the troglodyte houses in Matmata, a unique experience.

For departures from Tozeur, you will visit the irrigation tower of the Kébili palm grove.

In Douz, you will have lunch at a restaurant and visit the town, depending on your arrival time.

You will spend the night at the Offra 4* hotel or equivalent, on a half-board basis.

Days 2 to 6:

After breakfast, you will visit the Douz market before departing by 4x4 to Bir Abdallah, a water well in the desert, where you will meet the camel drivers and their dromedaries.

You will have your first lunch in the desert, in the form of a picnic, then head towards the plateau mountain of Tembaine with the pack camels.

In the late afternoon, the camel drivers will prepare the first bivouac and dinner.

You will spend an unforgettable evening around the campfire. At night, you will sleep in your tent under the stars in the heart of the desert.

Every day, lunches and bivouacs will be prepared by your camel drivers; this will be the only repetitive aspect, as the landscapes will be different every day.

On the seventh day, you will continue your trek towards Ksar Ghilane, where you will spend the last night in the desert, near the oasis.

Enjoy one last time the magical atmosphere of the desert and the tranquility of this unique place.

The eighth day marks the end of your adventure in Ksar Ghilane.

After a lunch at a restaurant, you will have the opportunity to swim in a hot spring at 32°C, a relaxing and invigorating experience after these days of trekking with Spartan bathing conditions.

You will return by 4x4 or minibus and be dropped off at your place of stay or at the airport in Djerba or Tozeur.

If you wish, you can also opt for a last night at a hotel in Djerba or Tozeur (upon request).
