This unique experience will begin after the transfer from Tozeur to Chenini, a troglodyte village which stands proudly on the slopes of the mountain, offering breathtaking panoramas. The trek will continue towards Douiret, another jewel of Berber architecture, abandoned and silent, testifying to a rich history
and complex. The adventure will reach its climax at Guermassa, the highest point of this hike, where the lunar landscape mixes with the vestiges of a glorious past.

TREK PROGRAM IN DJEBEL DAHAR

Day 1:

Pick-up from your place of stay in Tozeur.
Departure to the Berber region and Djebel Dahar
Arrival at the village of Douiret.
Start of the day-long trek in Djebel Dahar, from Douiret to Chenini. Estimated duration and distance of the trek: 3h30 - 8.25 km.
Lunch in Chenini.
Continue the trek back to Douiret via the site of the 7 Sleepers. Estimated duration and distance of the trek: 3h00 - 7.50 km.
Arrival in Douiret.
Check-in at the troglodyte guesthouse, free time, dinner, and overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Day 2:

Departure by car to Chenini, approximately a 45-minute drive.
Start of the trek from Chenini to Ksar Guermassa. Estimated duration of the trek: 3h30.
Lunch in Guermassa.
Visit Ksar Guermassa, estimated duration of the visit: 1h30.
Departure for the return to Tozeur.
Arrival and drop-off at your place of stay.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE TWO-DAY TREK IN THE DJEBEL DAHAR FROM TOZEUR

Departure from your place of stay at 6:00 AM and head towards the perched village of Douiret in Djebel Dahar.

Accompanied by your experienced guide, who will reveal the secrets of the region throughout your hike, the trek will begin with a 3.5-hour walk from the beautiful perched village of Douiret towards Chenini. Through picturesque landscapes, valleys, and rocky hills, you will discover the natural beauty of the region.

In Chenini, a lunch break at a restaurant will allow you to recharge and immerse yourself in the local ambiance. Then, you will resume the trek for a 2.5-hour walk back to Douiret via the site of the Seven Sleepers, steeped in legends and history.

At the end of the day, you will arrive in Douiret, where a delicious dinner and a night in a troglodyte guesthouse will offer you a unique experience of traditional regional accommodation.

The second day will begin with a transfer by 4x4 to Chenini to start the second part of the trek. A 3.5-hour walk towards Ksar Guermassa will reveal new perspectives on the surrounding landscape.

In Guermassa, a lunch break at a local restaurant will allow you to enjoy traditional dishes. Then, a 1.5-hour visit to the citadel of Guermassa, rich in architecture and history, will offer you breathtaking panoramic views from its summit.

After this enriching experience, a return by 4x4 will take you back to your place of stay, concluding this unforgettable adventure in Djebel Dahar.
