Depart Zarzis at dawn for a unique adventure in the heart of the Tunisian desert, with our excursion to Douz, nicknamed the gateway to the desert.

At 6:30 am, we will pick you up directly in front of your accommodation in Zarzis, to take you on an exceptional day of adventure. En route, you will cross the changing landscapes of southern Tunisia, from the coastal plains to the golden dunes of Douz.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a team of expert camel drivers, who will introduce you to camel riding before setting off on a two-hour trek through the vast desert expanses.

This walk will offer you a breathtaking view of the unspoiled landscapes and the tranquility of the desert.

After the trek, your camel drivers will prepare a traditional lunch for you in the middle of the desert, a moment of relaxation and conviviality to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty and discuss local traditions.

At the end of the day, you will meet your driver in Douz for a comfortable return to Zarzis, full of memories and emotions.

This excursion offers an authentic immersion in the nomadic Bedouin way of life, ideal for travelers looking for a change of scenery and serenity, far from the hustle and bustle.

Transportation is either by 4x4 or minibus depending on the number of participants.

Our vehicles can be equipped with baby seats on request.

This day trip is not open to people with reduced mobility.

PROGRAM OF THE CAMEL RIDE TO DOUZ IN THE DESERT FROM ZARZIS

Pick-up at 6:30 a.m. in front of your place of stay in Zarzis and departure for Douz.

Arrival in Douz around 10 a.m.

After a coffee break you will meet your camel drivers and their dromedaries.

Then, it's time for the camel ride, 2 hours immersed in the desert on camels.

For lunch, the camel drivers will prepare a traditional Tunisian meal for you in the desert: A Tunisian salad, grilled meats, and bread baked in the sand.

Return to Douz in the middle of the afternoon, to meet your driver and his vehicle.

Return to Zarzis and drop off around 5:30 p.m. in front of your place of stay.

For private day trips, reductions for children under 11 only apply to groups of 4 or more paying adults.
