Leave from Douz for an exceptional two-day adventure through the beating heart of Berber Tunisia and the mythical landscapes immortalized by Star Wars.
Discover the ancestral ksour and the hilltop villages which bear witness to a rich history and a deeply rooted culture.

From Ksar Hallouf to Ksar Hadada, walk in the footsteps of the Jedi, before visiting the oasis of Ksar Ghilane, a jewel of the desert framed by golden dunes.

After a traditional lunch in Guermassa, let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of Ksar Ghilane and the adventure options available to you, between camel rides and quad explorations.

The day ends with a total immersion in the desert with a night in a tent in a Saharan camp.

The next day, explore Matmata and its cave houses, a Star Wars setting that transports you to another galaxy.

A lunch with a local in Tamezret ends this beautiful getaway before returning to Douz, your head and heart filled with unforgettable memories.

THE PROGRAM OF THE BERBER AND DESERT TRIP FROM DOUZ TO KSAR GHILANE AND MATMATA

Day 1

Departure in a 4x4 from your accommodation in Douz towards the Berber region.
Visit Ksar Hallouf.
Visit Ksar Hadada (a Star Wars filming location).
Guided tour of the village of Chenini.
Lunch in Guermassa.
Departure by track or road, depending on the season, to Ksar Ghilane, an oasis surrounded by vast sand dunes.
Upon arrival at Ksar Ghilane, free time in the oasis.
Optional camel ride or quad biking available.
Swimming in the hot spring (optional).
Departure for an overnight stay in the desert at a Saharan campsite (20 km of track).
Dinner and overnight in private tents.

Day 2

Breakfast and free time in the dunes.
Departure to visit Matmata and the troglodyte houses (a Star Wars filming location).
Lunch with a local family in Tamezret.
Departure for Douz.
Return to Douz and drop-off at your accommodation in the late afternoon.

Information:
Transportation is by 4x4.

Our vehicles can be equipped with baby seats on request.

This excursion is not open to people with reduced mobility.

No telephone network in the desert.

Take away:

Concerning the equipment, you must include in a bag (this is better for sand):
Your change for the duration of the excursion, a flashlight or headlamp, as well as towels (not provided at the Saharan camp).
For the evening, bring warm clothes as it can be very cold in winter.
If you are cold, for the camp we recommend sports tracksuits for sleeping and if you need to go out at night.
Blankets, pillows and sheets are provided at the camp.

Do not forget:

A complete change.
Necessary and towel.
Solar cream.
Hat or cap.
Pair of sunglasses.
Scarf or scarf for the quad.
Swimwear.
Camera.
Some cash for your personal expenses.
