As the sun sets, a Saharan camp opens up before you.
Take part in a vigil under the stars, where Bedouin tales and desert songs mingle, before falling asleep in a private tent, lulled by the silence of the Sahara.

The following day, after an invigorating breakfast, the hike resumes, offering you new spectacular panoramas, before gently returning to civilization.

PROGRAM OF THE TWO-DAY CAMEL RIDE IN THE EASTERN SAHARA

Day 1:

Pickup at 9:00 AM from your accommodation in Douz.
Departure to the edge of the desert.
Meet your Bedouin guides and their camels.
Begin the first leg of your camel trek.
After two hours of trekking, stop for a lunch prepared by the camel guides.
Resume your trek for three hours through the white sand dunes.
In the late afternoon, set up the bivouac, dinner, evening gathering, and overnight stay in private tents in the desert.

Day 2:

Breakfast and resume your trek back to Douz.
After three hours of trekking, stop for a lunch prepared by the camel guides.
Resume your trek to return to Douz.
Drop-off at your accommodation around 4:30 PM.

Information:
You will have one camel per person, children can ride in front of an adult.

You will not have water to wash yourself, bring wet wipes.

There is no network in the desert, make your calls before leaving.

This excursion is not open to people with reduced mobility.

The first day is a dive into the raw beauty of the desert, with stops to savor traditional dishes prepared by the camel drivers, enriching the experience with an authentic cultural dimension.

The evening promises magical moments, shared around a campfire, under a starry sky that seems to tell the story of the universe.

The following day, the adventure continues with new discoveries, each dune crossed offering a unique natural spectacle.

This trip to the Eastern Sahara is a celebration of simplicity, a reconnection with oneself and with the earth, leaving each participant with memories engraved for eternity.

Don't forget:

A complete change of clothes.
Toiletries and a towel.
Wet wipes.
A small trash bag.
A flashlight or headlamp.
Sunscreen.
Hat or cap.
Hiking shoes.

Warm clothes for the evening as it can get very cold in winter.
If you tend to feel cold, we recommend sportswear for sleeping and if you need to go out at night.

EQUIPMENT LIST FOR CAMEL TREKKING

Preparing for a bivouac in the desert requires careful planning and preparation.

Here is the recommended equipment list for your camel trekking adventure:

Clothing:

Bring light, natural fiber clothing for the day and warmer clothing for cool evenings.

Footwear:

Choose light, sand-resistant shoes for your trek.

Sun Protection:

A hat or cap, a scarf for protection from the sun, wind, and sand, sunglasses, and high-protection sunscreen are essential.
An insulated water bottle is also recommended.

Lighting:

Don’t forget a flashlight or headlamp for evenings and nights in the bivouac.

Hygiene:

Wet wipes, toilet paper, and a small trash bag are necessary to keep the environment clean and respect the desert.

Sleeping Gear:

If you wish, you can bring your own sleeping bag. However, mattresses, sheets, blankets, and pillows will be provided.

Preparing adequately for a bivouac in the desert will ensure a more pleasant and comfortable experience. It is important to respect the desert and make sure to leave no trace of your visit.
