This excursion offers you an immersive experience in the heart of the ochre sand dunes, allowing visitors to discover the beauty of the Tunisian desert.

During this excursion, you will have the opportunity to contemplate the endless expanses of the desert, relax in the hot spring where the water gushes at a temperature of 32°C, go on a quad bike adventure to the ancient Roman fort of Tisavar, and even live the unique experience of a camel ride through the desert.

The return journey will include an additional stopover to enrich your excursion. A visit is planned to Ksar Hallouf, a magnificent ksar located in the heart of the Berber region.

This stop will allow you to explore this enchanting place and appreciate the cultural richness of the region, thus adding a cultural touch to your adventure in the Tunisian desert.

DAY TOUR TO KSAR GHILANE FROM DJERBA PROGRAM

Pick up at 6:30 a.m. in front of your place of stay and departure for Tataouine. (Ksar Ghilane, 215 km - 3h30 drive).
Coffee break in Medenine.
Arrival in Ksar Ghilane, around 10 a.m.
Optional and payable on site without reservation, the dromedary ride 45 mins/€15 per person and per camel.
Optional and payable on site without reservation, quad ride 1 hour/€30 per person and per quad, two-seater quad 1 hour/€45 for 2 people.
Lunch in a restaurant at the foot of the dunes.
Free time in the oasis.
Departure around 2 p.m. for Ksar Hallouf. (Ksar Ghilane > Ksar Hallouf, 85 km, 1 hour 15 minutes drive).
Visit to the Ksar Hallouf.
Departure for the return to Djerba. (Ksar Hallouf > Djerba, 130 km, 2 hours drive).
Return and drop off in front of your place of stay at the end of the afternoon, around 5:30 p.m.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DESERT TOUR TO KSAR GHILANE FROM DJERBA

We will pick you up from your place of stay, in Djerba, at 6:30 a.m., to fully enjoy your day.

On the road leading to Medenine, you will cross magnificent olive fields, photo stops are planned.

In Médenine you will take a coffee or other break to refresh yourself before heading towards the desert and the oasis of Ksar Ghilane.

The road winding between the hills will gradually lead you towards more arid and rocky landscapes, the reg, until the entrance to Ksar Ghilane, where the ocher sand dunes of the desert are offered to you.

You will have free time to relax, visit and discover the oasis and even bathe in the 32° hot spring if you feel like it.

Lunch will be served to you in a restaurant at the foot of the dunes, with a unique view of the desert.

As an option without booking, you will have the possibility to take a camel ride (€15/h per person per camel), or a quad ride, to the Roman fort of Tisavar.(30 €/h per person and per quad, 45 € for a duo quad).

In the middle of the afternoon, you will hit the road for your return to Djerba, on the way, we will make a stop to visit Ksar Hallouf, an opportunity to discover Berber architecture and local history.

We also offer this excursion, over two days, including a magical night in the desert.

Take advantage of this option to live an even more immersive experience and spend a magical night in the heart of the Sahara.

Sahara Excursion

AMAZING! So easy to email and set up entire excursion. We had the perfect guide and driver, Maher, to help us through their country. Our guide, Yoser spoke English; more people spoke English than I was expecting. She was knowledgable of her country and takes great photos. This trip was so beautiful. I highly recommend booking with this company to see the vast beauty of Tunisia. Weather was also perfect in March.

Unforgettable day
We spent an unforgettable day with Khaled and Kiki. Khaled took the time to talk to us about Tunisia, customs, life and it was fascinating. We made several stops to take photos, to chat, to drink tea before arriving at the oasis where we bathed. The spring was hot, it was very pleasant. We rode a camel and saw the desert sand dunes as far as the eye could see, it was magnificent. Then, on Khaled's advice, we went quad biking. It was fantastic. The landscape, the slaloms between the sand dunes, we recommend +++. It was a very good time. We then ate in a very good typical restaurant. Then return via Chenini and the salt lake. We would like to come back to spend 4/5 days in the desert and do a trek. We look forward to seeing Khaled and Kiki again next year. They are two wonderful people, calm and caring. Thank you for your welcome and these moments of sharing. But also thanks to Bruno, who is our contact for reservations and who is very responsive and adapts to all our remote requests.

A change of scenery guaranteed!!
What can I say except that this excursion is complete, enriching and human! Our guide was with us from A to Z: answering our questions about Tunisian life, accompanying us to easily access our quad outing in the desert (an hour of pure happiness) for our camel outing (an hour of walk in the middle of the Sahara) and gave us time for a swim in the hot spring of Ksar Ghilane. A typical meal following all these emotions is served to us with simplicity and authenticity. On the way back, we were able to pass through Tataouine and come across herds of goats with their shepherds. This excursion was carried out expertly and we recommend it 1000%!!!! Thanks to Bruno and his team for allowing us to experience such an adventure at a very competitive price.
