Departing from Djerba, join us for an authentic adventure, a camel trek that will take you in the footsteps of ancestral Bedouin caravans.
At dawn, set off to explore the white sand dunes of Douz, nicknamed the “gateway to the desert”.
Accompanied by Bedouin guides and their camels, cross breathtaking landscapes, savor traditional outdoor meals and spend a magical night under the stars.
This two-day immersion in the Tunisian Sahara is an invitation to discovery, adventure and escape.

PROGRAM OF THE CAMEL HIKING IN THE DESERT
Day 1:

Pickup at 6:00 AM from your accommodation and departure for Douz.

Arrival in Douz around 10:00 AM, coffee break.

Meet your Bedouin guides and their camels.

Begin the first leg of your camel trek.

After two hours of trekking, stop for a lunch prepared by the camel guides.

Resume your trek for three hours through the white sand dunes.

In the late afternoon, set up the bivouac, dinner, evening gathering, and overnight stay in private tents in the desert.
Day 2:

Breakfast and resume your trek back to Douz.

After three hours of trekking, stop for a lunch prepared by the camel guides.

Resume your trek to return to Douz around 2:30 PM.

Coffee break.

Departure for the return journey and drop-off at your accommodation around 5:30 PM.
Information:
The tour is made by 4X4, or by microbus depending on the number of participants.
Our vehicles can be equipped with baby seats on request.
You will have one camel per person, children can ride in front of an adult.
You will not have water to wash yourself, bring wet wipes.
There is no network in the desert, make your calls before leaving.
This days tour is not open to people with reduced mobility.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CAMEL HIKING IN THE DESERT
This two-day camel trek is a true discovery of nomadic life, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore the Tunisian desert in an authentic and intimate way.
The journey begins at dawn, with a departure from Djerba, towards Douz, the famous “gate to the desert”.
Welcomed by Bedouin guides and their camels, the group embarks on an adventure across the expanses of white sand, an experience that evokes the journeys of ancient caravans across the Sahara.
The first day is marked by a five-hour hike interspersed with a traditional meal in the desert, carefully prepared by the camel drivers.
In the evening, the bivouac offers an exceptional setting for an evening under the stars, a rare opportunity to connect with nature and Bedouin traditions.
On the second day, after an invigorating breakfast, participants resume their walk through the desert, towards Douz for a return to civilization.
This stopover allows a final break before the return journey, thus ending a memorable adventure in the Tunisian desert.
This tour is much more than just a hike; it is an invitation to escape, to discover and to immerse yourself in the authenticity of the Bedouin way of life, offering a break from the tumult of modern life to reconnect with the essentials.
