PROGRAM FIVE DAYS TRIP IN TUNISIA FROM DOUZ

Day 1

07:30 - Pickup from your accommodation at Douz.
Departure for El Jem (340 km, 3h40).
Lunch at a restaurant.
Visit the amphitheater of El Jem, the largest Roman amphitheater in Africa.
Visit the El Jem Museum.
Travel to Kairouan (72 km, 1h15).
Visit the Great Mosque of Kairouan, the largest mosque in Tunisia.
Visit the Aghlabid Basins, water reservoirs dating from the 9th century.
Dinner and overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kairouan.

Day 2

Visit the Sidi Sahbi Mausoleum, a mausoleum dating from the 10th century.
Travel to Thuburbo Majus (1h30, 100 km).
Visit Thuburbo Majus, an ancient Roman site.
Lunch at a restaurant.
Travel to Testour (65 km, 1h).
Visit the traditional village of Testour.
Travel to Dougga (30 km, 30 min).

Day 3

Departure for Bulla Regia (70 km, 1h20).

Travel to Tunis (160 km, 2h10).
Visit the archaeological site of Carthage, an ancient Punic city.
Free time in Sidi Bou Said.

Day 4

Visit the Medina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Travel to Mornag (20 km, 35 min).
Visit the vineyards of Mornag.
Travel to Kerkouane (100 km, 2h).
Visit the archaeological site of Kerkouane, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Travel to Kelibia (20 km, 24 min).
Visit the fort of Kelibia, a 16th-century fortress.
Travel to Hammamet (80 km, 1h30).
Visit the Medina of Hammamet, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Hammamet.

Day 5

Departure from Hammamet to Sousse (1h10, 100 km).
Visit the Archaeological Museum of Sousse, which houses a collection of Roman and Byzantine objects.
Visit the Ribat of Sousse, an 8th-century fortress.
Visit the Medina of Sousse, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Travel to Monastir (30 min, 25 km).
Visit the Ribat of Monastir, an 8th-century fortress.
Lunch at a restaurant.
Return and drop-off at your accommodation in Douz (410 km, 4h30).

Day 3: From Bulla Regia to Tunis, a journey through time
The third day begins with a visit to Bulla Regia, known for its unique underground dwellings.
After lunch, head to Tunis to explore Carthage, an ancient Punic city, followed by free time in Sidi Bou Said.
The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay in a 4-star hotel in Tunis.

Day 4: Between Vineyards and Archaeological Sites
The day begins with a visit to the Mornag vineyards, followed by an exploration of the archaeological site of Kerkouane, the only witness to Punic civilization.
Then, discovery of Fort Kélibia, an impressive 16th century fortress.
The day ends with a visit to the medina of Hammamet and a dinner at the hotel in Hammamet.

Day 5: Sousse and Monastir, between Museum and Fortresses
On the last day, departure to Sousse to visit its archaeological museum, the Ribat and the medina, all listed as UNESCO world heritage sites.
In the afternoon, head to Monastir to explore its famous Ribat, another historic fortress.
After lunch, the return to your place of stay marks the end of this unforgettable Tunisian adventure.
