OFF ROAD TRIP PROGRAM - 4 DAYS IN THE TUNISIAN DESERT
Day 1

Pickup at 6:30 AM from your accommodation in Djerba.

Transfer by 4x4 to Douz.

Lunch at a restaurant in Douz.

Departure in a 4x4, taking the track around Jbil National Park towards the Tembaine mountain plateau (95 km).

Arrival at the Saharan camp in the Grand Erg Oriental in the late afternoon.

Setup, free time, dinner, evening gathering around the fire, and overnight stay in a comfortable private tent.
Day 2

Breakfast, free time in the desert.

Departure by 4x4 to the Grand Erg and Lake Houidath Erreched (70 km).

Lunch at the lake and free time in the oasis and desert.

Setup and preparation of the bivouac.

Dinner, evening gathering around the fire, and overnight stay in a private tent.
Day 3

Quiet breakfast in the desert.

Departure by 4x4 to the Tembaine mountain via another route (70 km).

Lunch on the way in the dunes, in the form of a picnic.

Arrival at the Tembaine camp.

Setup, free time, dinner, evening gathering around the fire, and overnight stay in a comfortable private tent.
Day 4

Quiet breakfast in the desert.

Departure by 4x4 back to Douz (95 km).

Lunch on the way in the form of a picnic.

Transfer to Djerba, and drop-off at your accommodation in the late afternoon.

The trip is done in a private 4X4.
Our vehicles can be equipped with baby seats on request.
There is no network in the desert, make your calls before leaving.
This trip is not open to people with reduced mobility.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 4-DAY OFF ROAD TRIP IN THE TUNISIAN DESERT
This off road trip in the Tunisian desert will take you through the immense dunes, to Lake Houidath Erreched via the Tembaine mountain in the heart of the Tunisian Sahara.
You will start your adventure with an early morning departure from your place of stay or from Djerba airport towards Douz.
After lunch in Douz, you will take the track for your first stop, a Saharan camp at the foot of the mountain of Tembaine.
At the camp, you will have free time to admire the immense sand dunes, climb them to admire the panorama
over the desert with a 360° view.
Then you will stay up by a wood fire and you will have dinner and spend the night in comfortable private tents.
After breakfast, prepare to face increasingly larger dunes on the track that will take you to Lake Houidath Erreched.
You will alternate between "bathtubs", types of rocky deserts, the Reg, and crossing sand dunes, the Erg.
Lunch will be taken in the form of a hearty picnic in the desert.
Late in the afternoon, you will finally reach Lake Houidath Erreched, a breathtaking oasis at the end of the world, surrounded by immense sand dunes.
Enjoy a bath in the hot spring, before settling in for the bivouac and enjoying an excellent meal under the stars prepared by your accompanying guides and the night in your private tent .
After waking up, you will leave by another route to reach the Tembaine mountain and the Saharan camp where you will have dinner and spend your third night in the desert.
On the fourth day, after a last look at the Tembaine mountain, you will leave to find Douz.
In Douz you will have lunch on the way in the form of a picnic, before hitting the road for your return to your place of stay or to Djerba airport, marking the end of your adventure in the immensity of the Tunisian desert.
Don't forget:
Regarding equipment, it is recommended to pack in a bag (better for the sand):

Toiletries and a towel (not provided at the Saharan camp).

Warm clothes for the evening as it can get very cold in winter.

If you tend to feel cold, we recommend sportswear for sleeping and if you need to go out at night.
