FOUR-DAY TOUR IN SOUTH TUNISIA

Prepare Yourself for an Unforgettable Adventure Across Southern Tunisia!

Your private four-day tour begins at 7:30 AM, with a pickup from your accommodation in Zarzis.

You will start your journey with the exploration of the Berber region located in the southeast of the country.

Here, you will be captivated by the many iconic Berber villages such as Matmata, Toujane, and Tamezret, where you will have lunch with a local family after visiting Matmata and its troglodyte houses.

You will then continue your tour westward, passing through Douz, a city renowned for its vast palm groves producing the delicious "Deglet Nour" dates, and known as "The Gateway to the Desert".

Next, you will cross the Chott El Jerid, the largest salt flat in North Africa, where you may witness stunning mirages.

After this spectacular crossing, you will arrive in Tozeur to explore its traditional Medina, with its narrow streets and houses adorned with light-colored bricks.

You will have dinner and spend two nights in a 4* hotel, Ksar Rouge or equivalent, or optionally, dine at a restaurant and stay in guesthouses.

After your first night in Tozeur, you will continue further west to reach the mountain range at the end of the Saharan Atlas, near the Algerian border.

Here, numerous springs gush out in the heart of the desert landscape, forming small shaded oases.

You will be fascinated by the mountain oases, particularly Tamerza with its waterfalls, Midès and its deep canyons, as well as the splendid oasis of Chebika offering a panoramic view of the desert.

At the end of the day, you will visit the Star Wars sets located in the heart of the desert, where you will watch the sunset before ending the day with a visit to the Nefta basket and returning to the hotel or guesthouse for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

On the third day, you will head south, where the arid landscape gradually gives way to the impressive Sahara.

The Grand Erg Oriental then unfolds before you, with its majestic sand dunes. From the bright white sands of Douz to the deep ochre of Ksar Ghilane, the panorama is simply breathtaking.

You will head towards Ksar Ghilane, passing again through Douz where you will have lunch before setting out to explore the desert.

In Ksar Ghilane, you can swim in the hot spring where the water emerges heated to 32°C, or take a quad ride or camel ride.

In the late afternoon, you will take the 4X4 to the Saharan camp located directly south, at the foot of a magnificent sand dune cordon, 20 km of track from Ksar Ghilane.

You will watch the sunset if the weather permits, see a demonstration of baking bread in the sand, have dinner at the Saharan restaurant, and spend the night in your private tent in the desert.

On the last day, you will return to the Berber region of Tataouine, where you will visit many Berber and Arab ksours, such as the village of Chenini, Ksar Ouled Soltane, with lunch at a restaurant in Guermassa, before heading back and dropping you off at your accommodation in the late afternoon.
