PROGRAM OF THE 4X4 TOUR IN THE SOUTH OF TUNISIA FROM TOZEUR A TRIP OVER 4 DAYS

Day 1

Morning:
- Pickup from your accommodation in Douz and departure for the mountain oases.
- Visit the oases of Chebika, Tamerza, and Midès.
- Lunch at a restaurant in Tamerza.
Afternoon:
- Visit the Star Wars set "Mos Espa" in the desert and Ong Jmal.
- Dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse hotel in Tozeur.

Day 2

Morning:
- Departure for Douz.
- Cross the Chott El Jerid, the salt lake.
- Visit the palm grove irrigation system.
- Visit the petrified dunes.
- Lunch at a restaurant in Douz.
Afternoon:
- Departure for Ksar Ghilane by track or road, depending on the season.
- Optional activities: camel ride (€15/hour) or quad ride (€30/hour).
- Swim in the hot spring (optional).
- Departure by track for a night in the desert, heading to the Saharan camp.
- Setup, sunset over the desert, bread baking ceremony.
- Dinner and overnight stay in private tents in the desert.

Day 3

Morning:
- Free time in the eastern Sahara dunes.
- Visit Ksar Ouled Soltane.
Afternoon:
- Departure for Chenini and visit the village.
- Lunch at a restaurant in the village of Guermassa.
- Visit Ksar Hadada.
- Dinner and overnight stay in a troglodyte guesthouse.

Day 4

Morning:
- Departure for Matmata.
- Visit troglodyte houses.
- Visit the Berber museum.
- Lunch with a local family in Tamezret.
Afternoon:
- Return to Douz and drop-off at your accommodation.

If you are cold, for the camp we recommend sports tracksuits for sleeping and if you need to go out at night.

Blankets, pillows and sheets are provided at the camp.

Unforgettable trip to the South of Tunisia!

The trip began from the preparation of the route with the GSA team who put together a magnificent adventure for us! Over 5 days, we traveled through the Berber country and the troglodyte houses, crossed the Chott El Jerid, visited Tozeur and the mountain oases and spent 2 days in the dune desert!
On site, we had 4x4s with drivers (Nejib and Ali: great drivers and super friendly) and a guide Mahmoud, a real historian, who delighted us!

Unforgettable Christmas vacation in southern Tunisia

Grand South Tunisian circuit. Departure from Djerba for 4 days, 3 nights to discover the South of Tunisia, between stone ergs, salt lakes, sand dunes and mountain oases. Our guide Mahmoud was able to help us discover his country through its history, its culture, its grandiose sites and landscapes. Stops for lunch in confidential and very tasty addresses (Matmatah, Tamerza), the sunset in the dunes at Ksar Ghilane, with the desire of our guide to stay away from the hordes of tourists. We return to France with images and flavors in our heads.
